Hedi Slimane, the new head designer of Yves Saint Laurent, has decided to cut the “Ready to wear” collection of his new employer by “Yves”. It should now be called “Saint Laurent Paris.”
Whether it’s a creative destruction or pure showing off, to show that he can, we don’t know – but suspect the latter. That would of course be a reason for rebranding and actual arbitrary destruction of a multimillion-dollar worth brand. Hedi, you punk!
What the new logo will look like is unclear. We recommend the one above that we’ve created.
