In his collection ”Deuz Ombres” fashion designer Cy Choi deals with the universe of shades. For the Korean designer shades are not only the dark, the black, the nothing, but a spectrum of black that contains a veriety of concentrated light.
When two shades cross (Deux Ombres) we perceive it to be one big shadow, we don’t distinguish its sources. Cy Choi attempts to utilize this effect of overlap, playing with light and shadow, by using prints and layering.
He is showing pants with leather details, wideleg pants, turtlenecks, and a make-up, black lips, that are somewhat reminiscent of the Goth world.
Given the occasion of the Cy Choi collection ”Deuz Ombres” there is also an exhibition at the Daerim Project Space. Check out the teaser video below.
