There was a very good article on Berlin-based designers who earn their money in Japan, and not in Germany in the recently published Zitty fashion book. A noteworthy phenomenon.
This is also the case for Berlin label SADAK with its most important market in Tokio. It’s an advantage not having to earn your dough with the risk-averse German fashion wimps, then you can really go for it and the new SADAK collection really shows where that can lead.
Sasa Kovacevic – designer of the label – gets inspiration from his Serbian roots that he talked about with us in a very personal interview. In his SS 2014 collection he mixes Serbian Hip Hop and traditional Japanese garments.
