Thierry Mugler is returning to Mugler.
What exactly he will be doing there hasn’t been confirmed. According to the report, he is supposed to help Brand Director Joel Palix with the realization of the Brand Vision. Sounds great, whatever that means.
Vogue UK further reports that Mugler will not be taking any decisions for the label he once founded but will merely engage in consulting efforts.
Perhaps it is not a bad idea that he will only give advice for now instead of making decisions. His aesthetic sense seems to have stagnated sometime around the 80s bodybuilding wave.
Nonetheless Mugler is a fashion here of course. We know it, and so does Mugler director Palix:
“His work has influenced many designers and perfumers.”
With Creative-Director Nicola Formichetti his design team, Romain Kremer and Sébastien Peigné also recently left Mugler. We’re interested to see where the label, known in the past for futuristic fashion, is headed now.
