London Fashion Week: Katie Eary Spring/Summer 2014

Katie Eary made flamingos the pivotal point her Spring/Summer 2014 collection. It’s not been that long since flamingos were  last playing a role within the fashion presentation of a famous designer.

Henrik Vibskov had  foot-long flamingo necks (the were not real ones) dangling down from the ceiling at his show “The Stiff Neck Chambers” and childish-naive flamingo prints were printed on tops.

In “Flamingo Massacres” Eary is showing trousers and shirts featuring prints of flamingos with wigs. The flamingo depiction of the British designer will be sparking further talks on the sexual orientation of the pink bird species.

Eary found inspiration for here new collection through the wilderness of South Africa, the Acid House scene, and the hooligans of Edinburgh’s football team. Textbook eclecticism.

Besides the flamingo prints there were abstract leopard patterns, cargopants, Wet-gel  middle parts, Nike Air Max, backpacks, and skateboards with Katy Eary logo print:
