The fashion industry was all about Nazis this week:
“In case anyone of you knows just a little bit about history and fashion, you’ll know that Hugo Boss made uniforms for the Nazis. Let’s be honest here: The Nazis looked fantastic.”
Then, the MARC JACOBS crew had to issue a public apology for a t-shirt and take it from the market subsequently. The motive is a pair of combat boots and inconveniently almost identical to the album cover of Neo-Nazi band Screwdriver.
“It has been brought to our attention that the imagery on a T-shirt of ours is similar to that used by a band. We were not trying to make a connection to that band or make a statement of any kind. We have removed the stock of the shirt from our own stores and offer our retail partners the same opportunity.”
We can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next week. Maybe it’ll be a read-to-wear collection by the Klu-Klux-Klan!?!?!?
