I do not know how I managed to get out of bed one day after our harsh and brutal terror-party for the opening of Berlin fashion week, and go to the tent close to Brandenburger Tor, to watch the SOPOPULAR show.
What I saw there, was not that different to what I have seen at our party: black leather, flags, boots by Doc Martens and a general strong military-touch, which the designer Daniel Blechmann nicely turned into something wearable.
Blechmann especially put his eye on the trousers waistbands, which he – some with the help of a cummerbund, some with the extension of the own waistband – changed by lifting the silhouette up. That looks: pretty kool. You can wear it, you should wear it. Definitely a highlight of the collection.
Less contemporary are the skinny suits in full colours, which are perhaps selling the best at the end. For quite a while we have preferred the models with more volume.
At the end of the show, we got to see nice leather-accessories: a neck-rest and a knee-pad. Both very strong items, which we at DANDY DIARY would definitely wear, despite of the limited comfort.
All in all, Daniel Blechmann again presented a wearable, dark collection, in which we find at least four favourite pieces. Afterwards as before, SOPOPULAR is one of the few highlights of the Berlin fashion week.
