The WOOD WOOD Spring/Summer 2014 show had Kim Kones as a celebrity guest. The LOUIS VUITTON menswear designer has been friends with one of the three WOOD WOOD designers Karl-Oskar Olsen since his tenure at British athletic chav brand UMBRO.
Just like Kim Jones who draws inspiration during his travels the designer trio picks overarching themes for their collections. “Utopia” was essentially influenced by a trip to the city of love – Paris.
One of the patterns frequently used throughout the collection is reminiscent of the monumental buildings in Paris. However, it appears the WOOD WOOD guys have not only paid attention to the classic Paris but also to the tracksuit-wearing gangs of the Banlieues. The tracksuit, matched with a fisher hat is the key look of the collection.
Besides short sleeve over long sleeve looks there were also shorts over leggings looks, two styles we have reported on previously. The location for the WOOD WOOD presentation was the Copenhagen “Glyptoteket” and made a perfect match for the collection.
