Confirmed: Vogue with a plus-sized model sells poorly

We feel reaffirmed: Vogue UK put the singer Adele on cover last year. A girl who sort of doesn’t quite fulfill the usual requirements to a Vogue cover-model. And, as it’s now become known, the readers agree. The Adele issue is the worst sold issue in magazine’s history.

Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman says: “Adele is the most popular woman in the world, but one of the worst sellers we’ve ever had.”

Perhaps Vogue rethinks their opinion to young and skinny models. Because the readers (and us, that’s for sure) seem to like them better.

Even better, however, they like someone else:

The best selling Vogue issue was the Millenium issue. With no cover-girl at all, for that with a reflective cover. So that readers could look at themselves.
