The REEBOK Pump Fury has its birthday. REEBOKs cult-shoe is becoming 20 years old.
The sharp-edged ‘out-of-space design’ of the 90’s sneaker has become seriously hip again. Similarities to the globally hyped adidas x Rick Owens high-tech shoes are undoubtable. The ‘Fury’ seems to have been a template for the ‘prince of darkness’.
We are wondering about the fact that we have not already reported about the ‘Fury’, because his come-back seems more than logical. Because the ‘Reebok Pump Fury’ is a 90’s child (feels like the 2456 – 90’s come-back). And there is hardly any other shoe-model (individually pump-able airbags, to optimise the fit of the shoe), which is standing for more functionality (synonym: coolness).
The potential of the ‘Pump’ has been recognised by REEBOK for a long time. Therefore, one reissue after the other is going to come out: JUNYA WATANABE gave the ‘Pump’ a dalmatian-look with uncountable black dots. And also sneaker-shops like Solebox or Atmos reinterpreted the ‘Fury’.
