Yesterday was the Spring/Summer show of probably the best known brand of the Berlin Fashion Week. Money was no object for Hugo once again and the guests were invited to an ice rink. Contrary to high expectations, it was, unfortunately, just as unpleasant as sultry as in the rest of Berlin. Very well. So be it. Since we have become slowly used to it.
The collection was Hugo-typical. We especially liked the shirts with a gradient. Wanna have them, now.
Shoe selection was interesting, too. Instead of pointed or round toes Hugo by Hugo Boss showed a clear edge. We saw a similar, less radical choice in Paris at Raf Simons. Will surely be a trend. We’re looking forward to it.
Designer Bart de Bäcker was inspired by common, unfashionable people and digitalizing:
“I look to everything on the street and I like how people sometimes dress themselves very individual without being fashionable – this is kind of an inspiration for me.”
Also on view: interesting shoulder and back seams on the jackets, sporty caps in tone-on-tone look, Barbara Becker, Wowi, sexy Cosma Shiva and, of course ,several other celebrities that we don’t really know. All in all – a good show!
